We use the individual’s network positions to predict their performance by correlating the number of (boundary-spanning) links to their performance rankings.
This form of analysis is best performed on larger groups (30+) where individuals have highly similar or identical jobs/titles, e.g. sales-person, customer service representatives or call center operators.
In case providing ‘manager performance ratings’ raise privacy or confidentiality concerns in you, alternatively, it is possible to conduct the analysis by using self-reported performance. Here the individual estimates his/her own performance relative to an established benchmark, e.g. his/her current performance compared to the best over the last two years.
The online questionnaire will take max. 10 minutes of your employee’s time. Questions include one (instrumental or affective) relationship to identify the network position of the individual and a self-reported performance question.
